Depend 330

By |Wednesday, June 17th, 2015|Categories: Depend|Tags: , , |6 Comments

When I’ve bought Depend 330 for a while ago I was drawn to the vibrant red shade that looked almost like neon but not really looking as bright as neon polishes usually do. It also looked a little bit translucent in the bottle and I always love that kind of look!

When I started to apply it the other day I realized it was a true jelly. After the first coat I was wondering if four coats will be enough to cover entirely but I actually only landed at three coats for enough coverage to make me happy.

I love such shades and I actually love when they are so extremely jelly as this one even if this polish challenges my patience. But I know now! I’ll only apply this polish when I have a lot of time and patience :)

Depend – Slightly Blushing

Depend - Slightly Blushing

Depend – Slightly Blushing

When I picked Slightly Blushing up to paint my nails I expected a creme. To my surprise it was more of a jelly than a creme. This polish could also be used as a base for French manicures if applied with one coat. This wasn’t my intension this time so I continued adding coats until I reached opacity! Now that sounds like a lot of coats but they were only three of them 😀 They are actually totally worth the trouble if you like soft pinks which I am :D. I haven’t seen so many glitter sandwiches lately but this could work quite well together with glitters.

The polish comes from Eleven.se

Layla – CE14 Vamp red with bonus stamping

Layla - CE14 Vamp Red

Layla – CE14 Vamp Red

You’ve already seen my shorties yesterday but these pictures are taken exactly after I’ve shorten my nails so they are the shortest 😛 . I must say I quite enjoy short nails once in a while so I decided to cut them short instead of trying to repair the broken nail. Repairing nails can make a whole difference as the nails keep growing but sometimes it’s just not worth the trouble.

The first polish that I wanted to try on my shorties was Layla – Vamp red which is a stunning dark vampy red jelly that covered in two coats. This is one of the Ceramic Effect polishes and loved how shiny it stayed after wearing the polish for a couple of days! I’m used to changing my nails quite often but I enjoyed wearing this polish so much that I decided to keep it for several days.

I surprised myself by wishing to stamp on this polish so I chose one of the MoYou plates that I’ve bought last spring from Edgy Polish. The plate is coming from the Fairytale collection and it’s no. 05. The polish used for the stamp is Gosh Holographic Hero.

Gloss ‘n Sparkle – Goblins Grave

By |Thursday, August 21st, 2014|Categories: Gloss 'n Sparkle|Tags: , , |10 Comments

For a moment I thought I was wearing jewels on my nails, but nope, it was Gloss ‘n Sparkle fantastic polish named Goblins Grave I had put on! What was meant to be just a swatch ended up to be a full manicure that will stay on at least for a couple of days, because it’s drop dead gorgeous!! The polish has a green jelly base and is full of sparkling hexagonal glitters all having the same size. I’ve put on two coats to achieve the opacity below and I was actually thinking of adding a third coat but it wasn’t really necessary so I kept it at two because I love the translucence of this manicure.

The polish comes from Edgy Polish.

Layla – SC48

By |Saturday, July 26th, 2014|Categories: Layla|Tags: , , |5 Comments

This sweet pink is coming from Layla and it’s part of a Gel Effect series of polishes. The polish looks like a crelly on my nails and it’s actually very easy to work with. The polish is also enough pigmented to cover in two coats fairy well. I’ve been using this polish in nail art before but it’s a great polish to wear as it is. The hands look so fresh while wearing this polish! It’s definitelly one of my favorite pinks along with Essie – Go Ginza and China Glaze – Sweet Hook.

This is a scheduled post so I won’t be able to read the comments and answer to the questions right now but I’ll be doing that as soon as I get back from my vacation :)

The polish comes from Eleven.se.

KB Shimmer – Belle Of The Mall

By |Thursday, June 12th, 2014|Categories: KB Shimmer|Tags: , , |11 Comments

Belle of The Mall is one of the polishes that KB Shimmer released as a part of this year’s spring collection. This polish is so much fun! The base is a gorgeous bright coral jelly that border to neon and it’s filled with holographic hex glitters of different sizes! I’m absolutely loving this polish! I know it’s going to be a favorite of mine this summer and I’m looking forward to wear it again. The polish was easy to apply and covered in two generous coats. I love how the hex glitters are glowing through the jelly base <3.

Shimmer Polish – Taylor

By |Saturday, May 31st, 2014|Categories: Shimmer Polish|Tags: , , |10 Comments

I can never be bored with Shimmer Polish! The variety of shades and glitters is so fantastic, still keeping the variations within the glitter range! This might not be a glitter to be layered (but of course, you can layer almost any glitter with a little bit of willpower 😀 ) and it works perfectly on it’s own. Two coats are needed for Taylor to cover and the result is fantastic! The jelly purple tined base is full of blue, aqua and magenta glitters of different sizes. Really beautiful!

Taylor is coming from Shimmer Polish Etsy store.

KB Shimmer – Green Hex and Glam

By |Monday, May 26th, 2014|Categories: KB Shimmer|Tags: , , |12 Comments

Today’s polish comes from KB Shimmer’s winter 2013 blogger collection and has a forest green jelly base. Infused into that base there are lots of different sized hex glitters from large to pretty small ones. This is definitely a favorite of mine right now as a change to the light spring and summer polishes that I’ve been wearing the last week. The polish builds up well, it’s easy to apply and covers in two coats. It’s such a lovely polish!

Guest post at Eleven.se

For today’s guest post at Eleven.se I’ve played around with OPI’s sheer tins. I see a lot of possibilities with these polishes both worn on their own and as nail art. The Sheer Tins are indeed sheer but buildable to a vibrant color. On the picture below I’ve used OPI – My Boyfriend Scales Walls as a base and I built blocks of colors with a half dry nail polish brush. On top of that I painted a black flower letting the colors shine through to the petals. For swatches of the Sheer Tins and for more pictures, see the guest post here.

Smitten Polish – You Saucy Minx

By |Wednesday, March 12th, 2014|Categories: Smitten Polish|Tags: , |15 Comments

Smitten Polish does some of my favorite indie polishes right now! You Saucy Minx is coming from a recent collection called “Love Actually” and it’s a purple jelly packed with duochrome glitters! The glitter color shifts from pink to green depending on light and angle! So beautiful! The polish covered in three coats which I’ve expected (hey, it’s a jelly 😉 ). If you want to see great pictures and reviews of more Smitten polishes visit Sminkan and Emma’s blog. And if you want to get this polish you can get it from Smitten Polish homepage or from Edgy Polish. I’ve bought mine from Edgy Polish who has a great spring sale going on with 40% discount on over 200 lovely polishes!
