Sephora – Faux Fur Jacket

Faux Fur Jacket from Sephora shined so pretty among the other polishes at Sephora! I’m always in for a good gold and this one looked like a gold that I would enjoy.

As soon as I’ve put it on my nails I knew this was a winner! The shimmer, the shade, oh, I was sold!

The only drawback with Faux Fur Jacket is that it’s sheer! I needed three coats to (almost) cover the nails. But it didn’t matter! I love this anyway! Surprisingly, the polish looks more sheer on the nails than in the pictures (usually some polishes look opaque in person but with VNL on pictures!!)

I’m so glad I’ve picked this one up!

Floral nail art – Roses

I’ve been a lot into floral manicures this spring and when I’ve got back from my vacation I still wanted a floral manicure on my nails πŸ˜€ I love all kinds of florals and this time I wanted a light manicure, one that is white based.

The base of my manicure is IsaDora – Marble that worked really well as background for my roses. I also wanted to create a vintage look so I sponged Virgin Queen from A England on my nail tips to create that feeling. On top of the sponged nail tips I started painting small roses. The black/gray ones are painted with Nordic Cap NP12 which I’ve blended with IsaDora Marble. I love how you can create so many shades with just black and white.

For the purple roses I used Zoya – Savita (don’t you just love Savita??) which I’ve blended with the white IsaDora Marble.

The leafs are done with Wet ‘n Wild – Miami Spirit which I’ve blended with a little black and a little purple creating different shades for the leafs.

Sephora – Dirty Groove

I’ve just realized that I’ve bought a lot of blues during this vacation πŸ˜€ Dirty Groove is a dark blue shimmer from Sephora that looked so pretty in the bottle with its purple flash of duo chrome showing in certain angles <3

I might have a similar one or two in my stash but I don’t really care, this one is gorgeous!

Isn’t it all about that? Finding that gorgeous shade over and over again even though you may secretly know that you might already have it somewhere in your stash? Hoping that there is a slightly difference between them?

Dirty Groove applied nicely covering in two coats.

Galeries Lafayette – Gonzagues

I’ve also got a blue shimmer from Galeries Lafayette together with the stunning orange Ambroise!

The shimmer is a little bit visible but not as much as I wish it was. Still, the shade is beautiful both with and without the shimmer, so I’m happy with my choice.

The polish covered in two easy applied coats which is OK even if I prefer one coaters :) .

Nail Art – Waterfall

I’m a big fan of contrasts and waterfalls are just so great for creating contrasts between colors and sometimes even finishes!

I started today’s manicure with Revlon Charming as a base, which is a beautiful lavender pastel that has worked so great before as a base for nail art.

I also wanted a little bit of contrast between the colors of the waterfalls so I chose China Glaze – Sun Worshiper and Michelle B56 which are two great neons. Then I’ve combined them with two dark shimmers coming from Pop Beauty – Purple pop and Midnight Minx.

Sephora – Psychedelic

How about another Sephora shade today?

Let’s take a look at Psychedelic – a somewhat light lavender shade that had the best application among the polishes that I’ve bought during my vacation. The polish covered in one single coat and it’s actually the only one coater too.

I love these kinds of shades. In fact I should take a look at my stash, I’m pretty sure I’m going to find similar shades there.

How about you? Do you gravitate towards certain shades as well? For me the shades usually are lavender, mint and occasionally light pinks. I think it might be pastels in general… I never seem to have enough variations of them πŸ˜€

Galeries Lafayette – Ambroise

While I was looking through the beauty department at Galeries Lafayette I noticed that the store had actually brought in its own brand of polishes (or at least I didn’t notice them the other years), so I had to try a few polishes from their line.

Ambroise is the first polish that I’m trying from the three polishes that I have bought from Galeries Lafayette and I love it!

The bright orange, the shimmer, it’s all so pretty and so perfect rigth now on my nails! The shimmer in the bottle actually transfers to the nails (unlike Green Tea Time that I’ve showed you yesterday) and I love that.

The application is good and the polish covers in two coats which is normal for cremes and shimmers.

Sephora – Green tea time

One of the first polishes that I’ve tried from the ones that I’ve got during vacation is Green Tea Time from Sephora. It’s a lovely minty polish that had some promising shimmer in the bottle.

I was excited to see if the shimmer was transferable to the nails but unfortunately it wasn’t. That’s too bad because I would have loved to see that shimmer on my nails πŸ˜€

Nevertheless it’s a lovely shade (I love minty polishes πŸ˜€ ) and I love how it looks on my nails. Two coats were needed for opacity.

Guest post at Eleven.se with water marbling

While I was on vacation I had a guest post published at Eleven.se showing the Rimmel polishes that I’ve showed you prior to my vacation. The guest post was published for about two weeks ago and it shows swatches of the four polishes and a water marbling using them.

The water marble is done by creating a sideway pattern onto the water surface which I’ve dipped four of my fingers into at once. I love that kind of water marble when I’m doing a full water marble manicure because it’s such a quick method!

I’ve also found the four shades working very nicely together.

For the entire blogpost (in Swedish) go here.

Vacation haul

Hello lovelies! I’m finally back from my vacation in France and I can’t wait to start blogging again πŸ˜€

One of my joys of going on a vacation outside Sweden is to look for polishes that I’m not usually finding/buying where I live. That includes the Sephora store that I really love. I know, I know, we do have Sephora in Sweden but it’s far from where I live and I haven’t visit one of the stores yet.

This year I’ve came back with six Sephora polishes and three Galeries Lafayettes. I was actually looking for the Kiko store that I’ve found last summer while visiting France but the store was gone! That is too bad because even if I can order Kiko from their website I just love looking at the colors in person, turning the bottles in the light looking for shimmers and/or duochrome tendencies in the bottles and so on.

Looking at the color choices that I’ve done while picking these shades I can’t help wondering if I’m already in the mood for fall. I know I’m not quite there yet though. I still want my neons and light polishes right now :p .
