Newspaper nails

I’ve discovered for a while ago that the trick for succeeding with the newspaper nail art design is to apply the newspaper print on a matte surface. I’m not sure why that works so well but it works VERY well! One can either start with a matte polish from the beginning (as I started with Zoya Ana) or mattify your base with one of the mattifying top coats available on the market.

On top of my newspaper print I started painting some flowers with the red coming from Cheeky Monkey (Pop My Cherry). For the black in the middle I’ve used A England – Lancelot. Then I mattified the nails with Maybelline Matte. I think this is one of the better mattifying topcoats that I’ve tried so far. I love how fast the nails dry and how matte the result is. I should have waited one more minute to apply the topcoat though to avoid the smudging on the index fingher :P

I’m glad you left the hint about the matte finish because the newspaper trick didn’t work for me on glossy surfaces! Pretty work :)

    That is pretty!
I only tried newspaper nail art once, but it didn’t work. I didn’t get any of the print on the nails :D

I like that you added the flowers, the effect of the whole nail art is kind of vintage and I love it this way a lot!
