Ever since I was a little girl I’ve wanted to have long thick hair, but my hair has always been thin, so my mom used to cut it short hoping that it would grow thicker. That never happened but I ended up having rather short hair throughout my teens. It wasn’t until in the beginning of my twenties that I decided to let the hair grow so I could have that long to the waist hair and I did have it for about 15 years until I decided to cut it off again! But it was never thick and that was one of the reasons why I ended up cutting it short after getting tired of it looking so and so.

Now my hair is half-long and I’m actually in desperate need of a hair cut which I’m planing on doing very soon :D

With this background in mind I received an email from Irresistible Me that asked me if I would consider trying on hair extensions. I’ve never considered that before but looking through lots of pics and youtube videos with before and after extensions transformations I decided that I did want to see how it would be to have that awesome hair that I’ve always wished for since I was a little girl, even if it was to have it through extensions.

Choosing extensions

When you choose extensions you first have to choose which type of extensions you want to go with. I went for the Royal Remy (which is 100% human hair) in the color Medium brown. I was a little bit uncertain about the color of the extensions so I sent a picture of my hair to Irresistible Me and asked for advice. I received great help from them and the extensions blended in perfectly into my own hair. I was advised to watch this video when I chose color which actually was of great help.

They’ve also helped me choose the length of my extension by sending me this pinterest photo. That was also a great help and I chose the 20″ hair length and the weight 200g. What I didn’t think about when I chose the length was that I am shorter than the average girl  so the hair will be longer on me, but that isn’t a problem since the hair can be shortened if you want to. I didn’t do that though so what you see in the pics is the 20″ hair length.

Package

The hair extensions arrived nicely packed in a box branded with the words “Irresistible Me”. They came packed in a two-sectioned bag and you should open the small section first to assure that the extensions are what you expect and ordered. In the small section you will find one of the extension which you can check out and try on and only after deciding that you want to keep the extensions you should open the bigger section where all the extensions are. The instructions are clearly explained on the bag.

Clipping the extensions in

I received ten extensions as follows: a four-clip extension, two three-clip extensions, five two-clip extensions and two one-clip extensions. To clip the extensions in, start at the nap of your head and go up towards the crown of the head. I used one three-clips extension at the nap of my head and then I continued with the four-clip extension and a three-clips one. I used the two-clip and the one-clip extensions on the sides and at the top of my head.

Washing and styling

Taking care of your extensions is just like taking care of your own hair. You can wash them, style them, dye them, cut them and so on. I’ve washed mine once and they turned out to have a little bit of a natural wave in the hair which I loved! I first decided not to style them to keep the natural feeling of them but now I’ve begun to wonder how they would look like styled! If I do so I will do a follow up blog post to show you how I’ve styled them.

If you haven’t worn extensions before you’ll have to get used to clipping them in and to the feeling of wearing them. I’ve clipped in all my extensions but 200g is A LOT of hair and I’m sure I can clip in less hair in the future and still get the desired look. When you choose the length and weight of your extensions remember that a longer hair will be thinner than a shorter hair if they are of the same weight.

I really love these extensions and the way they are making me feel while wearing them! I’ve finally got my long and thick hair and I’m getting used to wearing them more and more. I can’t wait to wear them again and style them in a different way!
