I’m combining these two challenges today as the theme for Nail Art Sunday is free to choose. The challenge for the 31DC2013 is “Inspired by a song” and I chose “Summertime” as my inspiration. Listening to the lyrics, a lot of ideas went through my mind:
Summertime,
And the livin’ is easy
Fish are jumpin’
And the cotton is high
I ended up painting a field of poppies instead of a cotton field as poppies are more symbolizing summer for me than the cotton flowers which I’ve never seen in person :D. The inspiration picture for the manicure is also this picture.
For the manicure I’ve used Lime Crime – Pastelchio as a base. Using the watercolor technique I did the background using LimeCrime – Crema di Limon, OPI – My Vampire is Buff and Wet ‘n Wild Miami Spirit. For the poppies I used Essie – Camera, Essie – She’s Pampered and a little bit of Lime Crime Crema di Limon. I’ve also used Wet ‘n Wild for drawing for the poppies and the grass.
