Smitten Polish – Beautyberry Gumdrop

After having longer nails for a while I’ve suddenly felt like taking the length down a little bit. This was partially because I’ve had a nail breakage a couple of weeks ago and after the repair the broken nail had grown long enough to cut off the patched part. I was kind of happy to cut the nails shorter! It’s like having a new haircut :D Now I wonder if I really do want the nails that long again.. I’ll have to think about that..

One of the first polishes that I’ve tried on my shorter nails is the lovely Beautyberry Gumdrop comming from Smitten Polish. Smitten Polish is an indie brand that I’ve seen around on blogs but it wasn’t until Sminkan had shown the Berrydrops collection that I really fall for Smitten Polish and got half of this collection. The light lavender base has something very spring-ish about it and the transparent flakes really make this polish stand out among the other indie brands. I’ve been wearing this polish earlier this spring when I had longer nails. The polish covered in two coats with the shorter nails and three coats with the longer nails.

Sasatinnie – Q10

Are you into flakies? I really love flake polishes so when Lauretta from A Lacquered Affair sent me this polish last fall I was so excited! It took me a while to wear it though because she’s sent me so many gorgeous ones so I had a hard time choosing among all those pretties! Now that I’ve finally worn this I’m so happy! A dark purple jelly with silver, blue and red flakes of different sizes! I just love it! The application was great and the polish covered in three coats.

Smitten Polish – Gooseberry Gumdrop

For a little while ago has Sminkan shown the whole Smitten Polish – Berrydrops collection and I fell in love with the whole collection immediately! When Llarowe restocked the collection recently I ended up with three of them. Smitten Polish is a indie brand that I haven’t tried before but I’m going to get more of these beauties because I’m absolutely loving the ones I’ve tried. Sminkan has also done an interview with the founder of Smitten Polish – Noelie which I loved reading and which you can find here. Today I want to show you Gooseberry Gumdrop, the minty one from the Berrydrops collection. The polish has subtle flakes and a wonderful crelly formula. On the picture below I’m wearing three easy coats.

Layering Nfu-oh 39 over Nfu-oh 244

I used to love the formula of Nfu-oh 244! Now I had a little bit of trouble with it being thick, but I blame it on the fact that I’ve had this polish for a couple of years and there might have been a little bit of evaporation going on hence the formula change. Oh well, I still love the color. This time I’m wearing this together with a Nfu-oh flake polish, No 39. What you see in the picture is three coats of the 244 and one coat of the 39. I love this combination. Having only one coat  of the Nfu-oh 39 gives the mani the extra something in a subtle way.

This is a scheduled post so I won’t be able to answer to the comments as usually but I’ll be reading and answering to the comments as soon as I get back from my vacation :)

Barielle – Elle’s Spell

I love flakes! When I got my first flake polishes I actually thought I could wear them on their own. Sure, it worked with a couple of them, but because they were so sheer I had to put on many coats to cover. Barielle’s Elle’s Spell is as sheer as most of the other flake polishes and it comes to its right layered over a colored base. In the picrure I’ve used Zoya Lisa as a base and two coats of Elle’s Spell and look at the depth of this mani! Elle’s Spell is perfect for layering!

Do you have Elle’s Spell? Have you used it on its own or have you layerd it?
