31DC2016 – Flower Nails

This is one of the manicures that I’ve prepared during the summer for today’s prompt. I’ve painted one big flower in the middle of the nails, using the watercolor technique. I love using this technique for flowers (for other nail arts too, but for flowers in particular). Unfortunately I’ve lost my notes about which polishes I’ve used for what, but it doesn’t really matter. If you want to recreate this, just use a light background (a white or an off-white), paint some flowers with one of your pink crèmes and add some dots in the middle! It’s really not that important exactly which polishes you use. The key to this manicure is which brush you use and how you use it. I’m using a pretty wide brush and I’m doing the petals in one stroke with a very diluted pink polish on my brush. I put the pressure on the tip of my brush and lift it when it’s close to the middle. Don’t keep too much liquid on the brush though.

For my previous year’s contribution to this prompt, take a look at my pinterest boards for 2013, 2014 and 2015.
