This is one of the themes that I knew what I wanted to do since Juli. I waited until for a couple of days ago though but now the nails are finished and they turned out pretty close to how I wanted them to turn out. I still need to refine my freehanded lines ;)
The book that the nail art is inspired by is “The life-changing magic of tidying up” by Marie Kondo and it’s one of those books that a lot of minimalists have read. I’m not a true minimalist but I am an aspiring one that hasn’t managed to get there yet, hehe.
The book has had a couple of covers throughout the years but I’ve chosen the cover that followed with my book which I think is much more stylish than the previous one. For my manicure I started with OPI – My Vampire is Buff which is such an amazing base color! I think I might need to thin mine though, because it both looks and applies kind of dry now. I think I’m half-way through the bottle now so I must have used it a lot in the beginning.
The red/coral is Dior Sunnies and the gold is Maybelline Gold Plated.
The last years interpretations of this theme are on my pinterest boards for 2013, 2014 and 2015.
