Dry brushstrokes with half-moons

I was in the mood for playing around with the dry-brush technique (more about it in my nail-art-book) and I wasn’t really sure where everything was going until I’ve finally done the half-moons. Many times when I start a manicure I have an idea but then the idea turns into something different. This time I was just playing around with this technique.

I started with OPI – Pretty Pink Perseveres as a base then I picked up a couple of polishes from a similar color-range, a darker pink (Essie – Bubbles Only) and a melon/orange shade, also from Essie – Looks to thrill. I only did some light brush strokes because I loved how the pink base looked from the underneath.

I then freehanded the half-moons in a contrasting color. The half-moons were done with L’Oreal – Grenat Irreverent and a small nail art brush.
