Why you should make your own decals for nails

I tried something new in this guest post for Eleven.se. I’ve seen lots of self-made decals for nails, most of them done by stamping and by using the lead-light technique but I realized you could make these decals with almost any kind of nail art.

When you think about it, it’s easier to paint something on a flat surface than on the curved nails. Besides that you can easily remove the unwanted parts, discard the total failures or just cut out the parts you are most happy with to put on your nails.

So I went ahead and did these splatters by splatting on an aquarelle palette, covering the ones I loved most with clear polish and cuting out the most interesting pieces to place on my nails. Now I could easily control the result and I loved that!

For my entire blogpost at Eleven.se with swatches of the two polishes and the nail art, go here.

Great job! When it comes to stickers, they can be useful. But the whole mani can be ruined when they shrink added. Anyway, they can help in many ways if they don’t!

aaand another great thing about making decals is that you can get a nice full manicure without trying to paint decently with your non-dominant hand :)
    it’s a lovely splatter design!
