I’m usually not wearing watches but when JORD approached me with a request of collaboration I fell in love with the stylish look and unusual use of material of these watches (yes, they are made of wood) and I just couldn’t resist the temptation of wearing one. Who knows, I might just get in the habit of wearing a watch, and this watch would definitely be “me”! My choice was a watch in the Fieldcrest series, the Green Sandalwood one.
The watch came in a beautiful wood box, nicely wrapped around a tiny branded pillow wording JORD. The branding details kept coming everywhere I was looking: the screw on the side of the watch, the backside of the watch and the clasp and beautifying the watch even more.
I was a little bit worried that the watch would be a little too big on my tiny wrist – the size of the watch is as follows:
- case width: 39mm
- case thickness: 11mm
- lug ends: 49mm
- band thickness: 20mm
- band length: 195mm
All the worries were gone when I put my watch on! As you can see, the band length is originally 195mm but JORD kindly offered to have it fitted to my wrist size which they successfully did.
After wearing the watch a little while I noticed a new pleasant scent around me. After wondering what it could be for a little while I remembered that I was wearing my watch that is made of green sandalwood! As you might know sandalwood is known for its fragrance that can last in the wood for decades so it was the watch’s delightful smell I was noticing!
Fieldcrest Green Sandalwood costs $129USD at the time I’m writing this post and so does the other wood choices in this series. There are five more series for women on the JORD homepages, all going from $129USD to $275USD. The watches are all coming with a one year guarantee and they can all be sized to be fitted on your own wrist before shipping for a small fee. They are also splash-proof so one shouldn’t use them under the water. They do stand nicely to snow coming down on them ;)
The final thoughts
Since I’ve got my JORD watch (for about a week ago) I’ve been wearing it on and off getting used to wearing a watch again (It’s been about 20 years since I’ve regularly worn a watch). I love wearing it and I’m sure I’ll be wearing it a lot in the future. It’s more like a piece of jewelry for me than a watch even if I found myself checking the time from time to time too :) . I love the quality of the appearance of this watch and the fact that the material is wood which as a material is very nice to the skin.
Now let’s take a look at my pictures of the watch!
I love the watch very much! Watch about you?? :)
