Today I’m joining a new nail art challenge that goes on the whole February on given dates. You’ve probably seen this nail art on instagram if you have an instagram account because it’s been going on month after month for a long time now, every month with a different set of challenges. I’ve been wanting to join this forever but I never remember to join until the month is already half gone but now, I’ve finally seen it in time 😀 The challenge is hosted by @californails and the tag for it is #nailartfeb.
For this challenge I wanted to use one of my favorite glitters coming from Deborah Lippmann called Do the Mermaid. This is one of the polishes that made it to my top 5 for 2013 and I’m still very in love with it! I used Do the Mermaid on my index and pinkie and did a tape nail art on the rest of the nails! Now I never thought I would have the patience to place so many pieces of tape on my nails but when I was finished I was quite happy with the result. The design is coming from another instagram account, @rachel_rachel and she has a tutorial for the design too, for those of you who want to try this. The bright and shimmery purple is Jade – Velvet and the black is Jade – Magia, both of them coming from a swap I did with a sweet girl from Brazil. The base for the tape manicure is Catrice – Lilactric which you’ve seen in this nail art post. I’m absolutely loving this design and how it looks and I’m definitely wanting to do more tape manicures in the future! I only hope I’ll have the patience the next time too!
