The theme for today’s Nail Art Sunday is Halloween and that leaves room for a lot of nail art and a lot of different interpretations. I’ve always wanted to paint a spider so I went for a spider accent nail together with a dark and (hopefully) mysterious background based on one of the Halloween’s colors, red. I tried to paint the spider with acrylics and it looked OK but not OK enough so I washed that off and started to paint the spider with a white nail polish. I’m not completely happy with my spider but I’ll practice more for my next spider :)
Halloween - Spider
For the background I started with one coat of A-England Lancelot. Using the watercolor technique I created some red areas. I started with Essie – She’s Pampered but that was a little bit too dark and didn’t create enough contrast to the black so I continued with Essie – Bazooka to lighten up the background a little bit. Bazooka isn’t that light itself and it’s a little bit sheer but it managed to bring enough light to the background to make me happy.

The base is gorgeous! I’ve never tried the watercolour technique, but I really must!
