Nail Art – tape manicure

While wearing Pretty & Polished – Perfection in White I wanted to try a tape manicure with it combined with a textured polish. I picked up OPI – Honey Ryder as I wanted a light feeling on my nails. I did the taped manicure with a striping tape (a gold one from Hail the Nails) and I removed it after applying Honey Ryder. The striping tape looked amazing though together with the two other polishes so I wanted to complete the manicure with it but you have to seal the striping tape with a topcoat if you want the edges of the striping tape to not lift. A topcoat would have killed the texture so I kept the manicure without the striping tape for a day until my curiosity overcame the fact that I would loose the texture so I applied the striping tape and the topcoat over the whole nail. The topcoat kept the striping tape flat for the rest of the day (morning to evening) but at the end of the day I could see how the striping tape was about to lift from the edges. I didn’t care too much, it was time to change the manicure anyway :D

Which one of the two variants of the manicure do you like the most? With or without the striping tape?

I like it better without the striping tape, it looks sharper that way.

That gold polish is gorgeous! I’m not sure, but I think I like it better without striping tape as well, but the striping tape does make it look more festive and less uptight… hmm…

    How delicate and elegant!
The best version for me is the first one (without golden tape). Beautiful!

Hi Ina, PER-FECT!!! I love striped manis!!! I like the tape-less mani better – I love the exact lines “coming out of no-where” and the two different finishes :-)
